It's perfect for playing with children, and the fact you are co-operating rather than competing gives it a charming feel. It'd be really great for introducing new people to VR, since you can progress at your own pace and there isn't a strong locomotion element. More please!. Very very beautiful (local and online) coop platform puzzler. One player is controlling Carly with a game controller on the desktop screen and the other player is in VR as some kind of godlike creature building the way for Carly. The puzzles tend to get really challenging towards the end, which is good (at least if you try to collect all fireflies, which we did), so good teamwork (and brainwork) is essential. Next to no bugs and a good amount of playtime. Unrestricted recommendation, BUY IT!!!. My wife asked to write the review for this one:"Carly and the Reaperman is even more fun than the trailer suggests! I had the happiest of times playing with my husband. His platforming skills made him the best choice for Carly and I played as the Reaperman. With its beautiful art style, increasingly elaborate level design and a seemingly simple, yet very poignant narrative, Carly delivers one of the most creative VR experiences that I have ever played. That being said, it does have some flaws. Several glitches in the game resulted in lost progress, forcing us to repeat some of the most difficult levels. In one instance, we found a way to cheat through some pixel perfect platforming just to avoid having to repeat the entire puzzle for a 2nd time. Throughout the game, you have the option of collecting small, glowing orbs, but we could never figure out what they were used for if anything. In that same vein, we were never given more then a handful of choices for character costumes. Not that these two things are integral to the whole experience, it just left us wondering why have them in the game at all then? Overall I would recommend the early levels of the game to anyone, but playing through to the end of the game will take patience, lots of communication and a great degree of skill. *Fist bump!*". Carly and the Reaperman is an underrated treasure. I hope it somehow dominates the VR market and sells a hundred thousand units alongside the release of the Oculus Quest, or through some other sudden means. It's such a memorable experience with friends. For me it's up there with Doom 3 BFG VR, Superhot VR, Beat Saber, Sprint Vector, and a small handful of others that have been a really jaw dropping use of the medium.. This game is amazing. (if you have someone to play with)It's one of the few co-op asymetrical vr games available and if that is what you are looking for I highly recommend it.The art style is cartoony but in a charming way. Doesn't seem to have much of a story but I don't feel that hurts the experience much given the type of game it is.The platforming is fairly solid on controller, it's fun in the more hectic levels to take leaps of faith trusting your friend to be done placing the block before you land. In VR its fun troubleshooting on the fly how to help your friend get over the various obstacles. Communication felt more important in this game than it has felt in most multiplayer games i've played lately, which is a good thing.
